RESUMO

A narrativa Machadiana em Dom Casmurro carrega o que é conhecido como digressão e fragmentação para apresentar os fatos que interessam ao narrador e para que o leitor crie a sua própria opinião, porém a partir de uma única visão, apenas através do olhar de Bento Santiago. Este pequeno artigo busca investigar de que forma o olhar que recorta e julga conta a história de Capitu, como Dom Casmurro contou a sua vida e quais foram os focos de espaço e tempo criados por ele para estabelecer no imaginário do leitor a personagem Capitu. Machado se utiliza de artifícios como o riso e a melancolia na obra a fim de criar um efeito de confiança para com o leitor, além de uma nítida perspicácia com as formas de escrita para criar a verossimilhança com o real.

SUMMARY

The Machadiana narrative in Dom Casmurro carries what is known as digression and fragmentation to present the facts that interest the narrator and for the reader to create his own opinion, but from a single vision, only through the gaze of Bento Santiago . This short article seeks to investigate how the look that cuts and judges tells the story of Capitu, how Dom Casmurro told his life
and what were the focuses of space and time created by him to establish the character Capitu in the reader’s imagination. Machado uses artifacts such as laughter and melancholy in the work in order to create an effect of confidence in the reader, in addition to a clear perspicacity with the forms of writing to create verisimilitude with reality.
