THOR EM DISCURSO: IDEOLOGIA, GUERRA FRIA E A PRODUÇÃO DO SUJEITO HERÓICO RESUMO PALAVRAS-CHAVEAnálise do Discurso; Ideologia; Histórias em Quadrinhos; Thor; Guerra Fria. ABSTRACT This article analyzes the discursive constitution of the character Thor in comic books, considering the historical and ideological conditions of his production during the Cold War. The research is based on French Discourse Analysis (PÊCHEUX, 1997; ORLANDI, 2015) to understand how the character, originally from Norse mythology, is re-signified by the North American culture industry. It examines how Marvel Comics, through Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, transforms the god of thunder into a patriotic hero, representing the values of the “American Dream” and the geopolitical tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union. The study also discusses censorship and the influence of U.S. cultural policies in constructing an anti-communist discourse that permeates heroic narratives. The analysis reveals that the figure of Thor operates as an ideological subject inscribed in a discursive formation marked by the imaginary of American power, progress, and morality, functioning as a symbolic instrument of cultural and political legitimation. It concludes that the reconfiguration of the Norse myth within a capitalist context highlights the articulation between discourse, ideology, and media in the production of contemporary subjectivities.
